Myrtle Beach, SC— Now through November 19, visitors to the Southern Living Custom Builder Program Showcase Home will have an opportunity to assist local homebuilder, Classic Homes, in providing donations for the Stuff a Stocking program.
Aiding local charity, Teach my People, the donation drive will help the Pawleys Island non-profit fill the stockings of the more than 100 children on its roster.
“This drive is a huge help and blessing,” said Executive Director, Eric Spatz. “Our goal is to provide stockings for the 103 children in our care, from first graders to high school seniors. In years past we have collected candy, gum, pencils/pens, nail polish, play jewelry, hand sanitizers, small lotions, hair ties, small toys (cards, bouncy balls, small cans of play dough) etc. Almost anything that is simple, practical, fun and small enough to fit into a small 10-inch stocking is fair game. Along with small items, gift cards and monetary donations are appreciated. The kids love gift cards to local fast food restaurants, while the monetary donations will be used to purchase items for the stockings and cover the cost of some of the larger Christmas gifts,” he continued.
“Teach my People is a wonderful charity and we are pleased to participate,” said Berkley White of Classic. “It is rewarding to know that this small gesture will have an impact on the lives of area children and help an organization which does so much for so many.”
Classic, who will be providing the stockings for the drive, is inviting visitors to leave items suitable for distribution in the donation box provided within the Showcase Home. Items must be new and unwrapped. No food or perishable items, please.
Donations will be accepted at the Showcase Home through November 19. Items may also be dropped off at Classic Homes, 524 Broadway Street in Myrtle Beach.
