Myrtle Beach, SC–Classic has reached an exciting milestone as the company celebrates 20 years of custom home building. With more than 60 years of combined experience, the formidable mother/son duo of Susan and Berkley White have built nearly 1,000 homes throughout the Carolinas.
Their list of accolades tops that of firms with twice the years of experience. They were the area’s first to build to the rigid Fortified Standards. They are the preferred builder in many of the Grand Strand’s most prestigious subdivisions, including the Grande Dunes where they have built more than 250 homes. They are one of only 100 builders across the US to be designated a Southern Living Custom Builder. Classic has built two Southern Living Custom Builder Program homes showcasing the latest in building and design and generating thousands of dollars for local charities.
In 2013, Berkley, a master builder, was honored as South Carolina’s Builder of the Year. He has twice served as President of the Horry Georgetown Home Builders Association and has served on most of the association’s committees. Rose Anne O’Reilly, executive vice president of the HGHBA describes Berkley as ‘hardworking and genuinely nice.’ “It’s no surprise that the firm has reached a 20-year milestone. Classic’s roots are firmly planted in our community. They build quality homes and stand behind what they build. They are first class builders and model citizens,” she said.
“We are happy to share this accomplishment and feel our success speaks to the quality and integrity we put forth in every job,” said co-founder, Berkley White. “We are extremely blessed to have dedicated employees, valued trade partners and a community that has supported us,” he said.
